On March 13, the European Parliament voted in favour of the proposal for the AI Act, the world's first comprehensive piece of legislation on artificial intelligence, with the aim of ensuring that AI systems on the EU single market are safe and respectful of individuals' fundamental rights, democratic principles and environmental sustainability.
