Tax Newsletter - Growth Decree: strengthening the regime for inpatriate workers

Law Decree No. 34/2019 (so called Decreto Crescita), in force as of 1 May 2019, amends the pre-existing favorable tax regime for Italian inpatriate workers, broadening the scope of its application and significantly enhancing the benefits for individuals transferring their tax residence to Italy.

The provision is designed to make relocation to Italy more attractive for individuals residing abroad and is part of a package of measures contained in the Decreto Crescita aimed at fostering the Italian economic growth.
