On 24 June 2026, the European Commission published the “Tax Omnibus” Directive proposal (as well as recast of the DAC Directives).  In this newsalert, Chiomenti Professionals examined the Tax Omnibus Proposal’s key amendments to EU tax directives and the potential implications for taxpayers and tax practitioners. The Tax Omnibus proposal aim is to modernise the EU direct tax framework, reduce administrative and compliance burdens, enhance legal certainty, and eliminate overlaps with the Pillar Two Directive. It is meant to support growth and competitiveness in the internal market, while preserving protection against tax avoidance and abusive practices.
