On 20 June 2025, the European Commission adopted the Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1197, introducing a measureof strategic significance in the area of public procurement of medical devices. This regulation excludes bids submitted by all Chinese economic operators in public procurement procedures for the purchase of medical devices with an estimated value of EUR 5,000,000 or more excluding VAT.

The measure represents a direct response to the restrictions and discriminatory practices adopted by the RC against economic operators and products from the European Union.
