Exchange of views with shadow rapporteurs on the own-initative report "The role of simple tax rules and tax fragmentation in European competitiveness"

Raffaele Russo, Partner, recently participated in a meeting with the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Tax Matters (FISC), sharing his insights on the “Draft Report on the role of simple tax rules and tax fragmentation in European competitiveness”.

In support of the Committee's ongoing work, a series of possible actions were suggested to contribute to the development of fair and effective tax policies, categorized into short-term, medium-term, and long-term actions. Key topics addressed included a possible EU-wide Digital Services Tax, the establishment of coordinated withholding tax rules across EU Member States, and opportunities for a new tax system driven by digitalization and new technologies
