Chiomenti strenghtens the Infrastructure and project Finance sector with Marco Cerritelli
Chiomenti is delighted to announce the appointment of Marco Cerritelli as a Partner of the Firm.
Marco will focus on Project and Infrastructure Finance and joins the Banking and Finance Department with a team of lawyers comprising Valentina Perrone and Giulia Alessio. Chiomenti thus strengthens and broadens its expertise in the Finance arena, reinforcing the multidisciplinary and highly integrated vision of the Firm.
Marco Cerritelli graduated in law with honours from Luiss University in Rome; obtaining an LL.M. in International Financial Law from University College, London and a PhD in the Economics and Technology of Project Finance at Luiss University in Rome.
Marco has over twenty years’ experience in infrastructure, project finance and public-private partnership (PPP) transactions. Prior to joining Chiomenti, he was head of the legal department at Sanpaolo IMI Group (today, Intesa Sanpaolo), and - later – a partner in national and international firms.
During his professional career he has advised clients in relation to the arranging and underwriting of a number of major project finance transactions in Italy in the sectors of sport, health, local public transport, and water and waste infrastructure.
Marco is listed as a leading individual in the field of project and infrastructure finance by Chambers Global and Chambers Europe. Noted for his "visible presence in infrastructure-related project financing", he stands out as a professional that is "solution-driven, efficient and knowledgeable about the Italian regulatory framework" and valued for his ability to be "always [...] ahead of client's needs, even under high pressure and deadline demands".
He is highly valued by clients for his "specific know-how, with a unique combination of strong technical expertise, excellent legal skills and strong commercial acumen and understanding of the business surroundings".
At the recent Toplegal Awards 2018 Marco received the award for "public finance lawyer of the year".
