MARCO CERRITELLI

Marco regularly advises Italian and international clients on the development, execution, and financing (including in accordance with LMA standards and through the issuance of securities) of infrastructure investments. He has gained significant experience in the major regulated sectors, with a particular focus on transportation, healthcare, the energy and digital transitions, and sports-related assets. In this context, he has worked on several market-first and pathfinder transactions. His areas of interest also extend to transactions carried out by infrastructure funds in both the primary and secondary markets.
He has extensive and well-established experience in transportation and social infrastructure, as well as in transactions involving the development of public assets. He possesses in-depth knowledge of best practices in public contracting for infrastructure financing—including international projects—gained through both academic and professional experience abroad and through his involvement in advising on non-domestic projects. Over the years, he has also handled the statistical processing of public-private partnership (PPP) transactions and assessed their compliance with EUROSTAT standards.
An expert in project finance and public-private partnership (PPP) transactions, Marco is ranked in Band 1 by Chambers and the leading national directories.
He regularly provides assistance in connection with financing transactions involving funds from the ICSC, the EIB (European Investment Bank), and the CEB (Council of Europe Development Bank). In this context, he has gained extensive experience acting on both the lender’s and the borrower’s sides. He is on the EIB (European Investment Bank) panel for project finance.
He is a member of the Finance Commission of the Italian National Committee of PIARC – World Road Association.
He participates in the work of the PNRR Lab at SDA Bocconi. He is listed among the pool of highly qualified professionals from whom the Department for Economic Policy Planning and Coordination of the Prime Minister’s Office draws when appointing experts.
His professional standing is evidenced by his 2021 appointment, by decree of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Mobility, as a member of the Ministerial Commission for Finance for Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility (FIMS), within which he led and coordinated the working group focused on innovative sustainable finance instruments for infrastructure.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Marco Cerritelli joined the Firm in 2019 as a partner. Previously, he carried out his professional activity at leading national and international law firms as a partner. Before working on his own, he gained in-house experiences both in Italy and in London, holding positions of increasing responsibility. In this capacity, he was manager of the legal department of the bank dedicated to public finance and the infrastructure of a leading banking group.
