The partnership
Statues, marbles and history
Preserving historical, cultural and artistic heritage means restoring artworks that shape history. This is why Chiomenti has been collaborating for several years with the Torlonia Foundation, which has always been committed to preserving and promoting one of the most important private collections of ancient art in the world. A partnership created from a deep sharing of values and goals, aiming to make an exceptional cultural legacy available to the community. In addition to having contributed to the restoration of the Statue of the Stephanos Athlete and the Statue of Europa (Amphitrite), the firm supports the activities of the Foundation, which has inaugurated the North American tour of the exhibition "Myth and Marble: Ancient Roman Sculpture from the Torlonia Collection" in 2025, and aims to support other major restorations in the coming years.
The exhibition "Myth and Marble: Ancient Roman Sculpture from the Torlonia Collection" features 58 masterpieces of ancient Roman sculpture, including busts, mythological figures and sarcophagi, with 28 works specially restored for the exhibition with the support of the Bulgari Foundation. The exhibition has been opened overseas since March 2025 during a tour involving Canada and the United States, aimed at making what is considered the most important private collection of Roman sculpture in the world accessible to the North American audience. Alongside the exhibition, an important catalogue enriched with stunning unpublished photographs and essays by curators Lisa Ayla Çakmak and Katharine A. Raff, archaeologist Salvatore Settis and Silvia Beltrametti, a specialist in art and cultural heritage law, is available.
The Firm's support to the activities of the Torlonia Foundation represents a crucial contribution to the enhancement of a cultural heritage rooted in tradition, that reflects key milestones in our civilization, as well as the history of collecting, archaeology and restoration.
