Pierluigi supports clients in structuring data governance plans, which take the form of contracts, the definition of regulations and audit plans, and in the context of corporate transactions.
He has assisted companies and multinationals in the transition to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the definition of corporate data strategy, working with leading firms.
He is a lawyer admitted to the Italian Supreme Court and has experience as a data protection officer and as chair and member of supervisory bodies.
He is an expert for EuroJust on data protection in judicial cooperation and the European Data Protection Board for the areas of "Technical expertise in new technologies and information security" and "Legal expertise in new technologies."

Academic activities
Pierluigi is an Associate Professor in "Information Security, Privacy and Protection of Sensitive Data" at the Law School of the University of Milan, where he coordinates the Advanced Course in "Data Protection and Data Governance" and in "Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Platforms"; at the same University he teaches "Cybersecurity and privacy preservation techniques and digital security and privacy" in the MSc program in Data Science and Economics. He was also Visiting Postdoctoral Associate at the Information Society Project of Yale Law School (2012-2013), Non-Residential Fellow of the Center for Internet and Society at Stanford University (2006-2010) and Visiting Researcher in the Corporate and Legal Affairs Department of Microsoft Inc. (2009).
