Carola assists Italian and foreign clients in relation to the development and acquisition of projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a particular focus on energy from renewable sources (wind power projects, biomass-powered projects—including waste—and biofuel projects, photovoltaic projects, geothermal projects, solar thermal projects, hydroelectric projects), energy from conventional sources (oil & gas), procurement and transport and distribution infrastructure for energy and gas, commercial contracts for the use of infrastructure, project finance in general, acquisition and leveraged finance, with a particular focus on green financing and ESG issues in general. Carola is recognized as a leading lawyer by major international legal guides such as Chambers, IFLR 1000, and Legal 500.
She was awarded “Best in Energy, Natural Resources and Mining” at the European Women in Business Law Awards 2020 and “Lawyer of the Year – Energy” at the Legalcommunity Energy Awards 2026 and 2018 and “Lawyer of the Year – Finance” at the Legalcommunity Energy Awards 2023, 2022, 2020, and was recognized as one of the 50 most inspiring women in the legal sector in Italy at the Legalcommunity Inspiralaw Awards 2023.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Carola Antonini joined the Firm in 1990 and became a Partner in 2003. Since 2024 Co-Head of the "Energy and Infrastructure" Practice Area and since 2025 Head of the “Project Finance” Practice Area.
