By decision published on 25 January 2019, the European Commission fined a US clothing manufacturer 80 million Euro as it imposed to its own retailers, from 2014 to 2017, a number of restrictions allegedly hindering cross-border sales and allowing to maintain artificially higher prices for its products sold in certain Member States of Eastern and Central Europe (decision in case AT.40428). The original amount of the fine has been reduced by half as the Group cooperated with the Commission.

The Decision provides useful indications on certain practices relating to both online advertising and online sales.
