The European Commission proposed a new legal framework to tackle foreign subsidies that cause distortions and harm the level playing field in the Single Market and thus integrating EU rules on competition, public procurement and trade defence. The proposal has been adopted in line with the EU Industrial Strategy (also adopted today) and follows the adoption of the June 2020 White Paper.
